Do I need special tools for book folding?

For the basic technique, nothing but a book and your printed pattern — a ruler or bone folder makes sharper creases but is not required. Cut & Fold is the exception and says so on every pattern that uses it: those need scissors or a craft knife, because you cut in at the edge of each strip instead of folding past it. Around a fifth of the ready-made patterns are Cut & Fold; the generator tells you which technique your design needs before you download.

Is there a book folding calculator?

That is what the generator does. Enter your book's height and page count and it works out where every fold goes, sheet by sheet, then hands you the measurements as a printable PDF. There is no arithmetic left for you to do — and if your book is an unusual size, it recalculates for that book rather than assuming a standard one.

Do I need to install book folding software?

No. FoldedBook runs in the browser on a phone or a computer — nothing to install, no licence, and no account needed to design and preview. Desktop book folding software exists and generally costs money; this does the same job on the page you are reading.

What's the difference between book folding and book cutting?

Both keep the book intact, and the difference is how much detail survives. Plain folding (measure, mark, fold) takes one fold per sheet, needs no tools, and can be undone by unfolding — but a design with interior detail loses it, because a sheet can only carry one band. Cut & Fold cuts in at each strip boundary so those details stay, at the cost of scissors and of being permanent. Book carving is a third thing: whole shapes cut out of the page block. We generate the first two, and tell you which one your design needs.

The most popular designs include hearts, names and initials, dates (wedding, anniversary, birthday), infinity symbols, stars, music notes, and simple words like 'LOVE' or 'HOME'. Single letters and simple shapes are perfect for beginners.

By using MyFoldedBook, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

Service Description

MyFoldedBook provides a book folding pattern generator that converts text and images into folding instructions. You can specify book dimensions, preview patterns, and download PDF files with folding coordinates. Every pattern in our ready-made library is free and downloads with just an email address. Patterns you make in the generator need a free account (Google or an emailed sign-in code): each account's first pattern — fold-only or Cut & Fold — is free, and every pattern after it, as well as any pattern made from an uploaded image, takes one credit. See Paid Features below.

User Responsibilities

When using our service, you agree to:

Only upload images you have the right to use
Not upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
Not attempt to disrupt or abuse our service
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the images you upload. You may use any pattern you download to make folded books for yourself or to sell as finished, physical pieces. Reselling or redistributing the pattern PDFs themselves is only permitted with a Seller Pack licence (see below). MyFoldedBook retains ownership of its software, design, and technology.

Paid Features and Credits

After an account's free first pattern, patterns from the generator — and every pattern made from an uploaded image — are paid for with credits bought in one-time packs. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.

Packs: Single Pattern: 1 credit for $4.99; Trio: 3 credits for $9.99; Seller Pack: 10 credits for $24.99. Prices are shown before checkout; taxes are calculated at checkout where applicable
By completing a purchase you authorize a one-time charge for the pack you selected
One credit unlocks one pattern for one book: the same design at the same book size and page range, in the chosen technique. Unlocking gives you the watermark-free PDF and on-screen Folding Mode for that pattern, and you can download it again from your library at any time. A different book size or a different technique is a different pattern
The preview is always free, so you see the exact pattern before spending a credit
The batch generator is available to accounts that have bought a credit pack. Each row in a batch is one pattern and uses one credit
Credits do not expire while the service is operating
When a purchase is refunded, the credits it paid for are removed from your balance. If some of them had already been used, your balance can go below zero; new credits then settle that first, and unlocking is paused until the balance is positive again
Seller Pack licence: accounts that have bought a Seller Pack receive white-label PDFs (no MyFoldedBook branding or links) and may resell or pass on the pattern PDFs they unlock to their own customers. The licence does not permit redistributing the generator itself or bulk-publishing patterns for free download. Any refund of a Seller Pack, full or partial, ends its licence; PDFs sold to your customers before the refund are not affected
Orders are processed by our payment processor and reseller, Waffo Pancake, which acts as Merchant of Record and handles payment, invoicing and sales tax. Your card statement will show "WAFFO" or "WAFFO PANCAKE", our payment provider.

Refunds

Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Credits already used to download a pattern are not refundable, because the free preview shows the exact pattern before you pay — except where a download failed or the file does not match its preview, in which case we will restore the credit or refund it. Payment card data is processed exclusively by our PCI-DSS certified payment processor (Waffo Pancake). We never see or store your full card details.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Our service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that patterns will produce perfect book art results, as outcomes depend on factors including book quality, paper type, and folding precision.

Limitation of Liability

MyFoldedBook is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our service at our discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that violates these terms or is harmful to other users or us. Unused credits in a suspended account will be refunded unless the suspension is for fraud.
